General
Yes this is completely free, and no it is not a scam! We provide free energy efficiency upgrades to homes in the UK thanks to the government’s ECO and GBIS initiatives. These schemes are designed to mitigate fuel poverty and help reduce consumer energy bills nationwide.
No. There are multiple alternative routes to qualify for an ECO or GBIS grant which don’t involve claiming benefits at all. Aside from receiving benefits, you can qualify for qualify for an ECO grant:
- if your annual household income is £31,000 or less, or;
- if someone in your household has a medical condition that makes them vulnerable to the cold.
To qualify for a GBIS grant, the only criteria is:
- if your property is within Council Tax bands A-E in Wales, or A-D in England.
Properties with a ‘D’ rated Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) or lower qualify for this scheme. If you’re unsure about your property’s EPC rating, give us a call on 01554 788766 and we can check for you.

Solar
The short answer is that it depends on your property. After we have surveyed your property, we professionally calculate how many panels your property will need to reach the highest EPC rating possible, as mandated by the scheme. As soon as we determine this for you, we will let you know specifically how many we will be installing.
The solar panels we install operate between 410w and 435w per panel.
Our solar panels come with a 12-year warranty and a 30 year guarantee.
Batteries aren’t covered by the scheme but we can provide you with a quote if you’re interested in installing one.
We install solar panels on all roof types apart from those with asbestos tiles.
Yes! Any energy that your solar panels generate that you don’t use, you can sell back to the National Grid and to your energy supplier through the Smart Export Guarantee.
No! This is not a ‘rent a roof scheme’. Once the system is installed, you own everything from day one.
Air source heat pumps
Our air source heat pumps come with 5-7 year warranties depending on their manufacturer.
Air source heat pumps operate at similar noise levels to a fridge; between 40 and 60 decibels. This makes them perfect for residential areas.
Radiators connected to a heat pump system typically feel warm rather than piping hot—usually running at around 35–55°C instead of the 70–80°C typical of gas boilers. This gentler heat may feel different at first, but it’s actually a key part of how heat pumps work so efficiently.
Instead of short bursts of high heat, heat pumps maintain a more consistent, comfortable temperature throughout the day. This means no more hot-and-cold cycles, just steady warmth that’s better for energy savings, comfort, and the environment.
Insulation
Insulation helps keep your house warm by preventing heat from escaping during cold weather. Without good insulation, heat escapes through the walls, roof, and floors, meaning that your heating system has to work harder to keep your house warm. By minimising heat loss, insulation keeps your home warmer for longer, meaning you use less energy to maintain a comfortable temperature, leading to lower energy bills.
We use SWIP mineral fibre insulation and its thickness varies dependent on the measure we’re installing. In the loft, we ensure the insulation is 300mm thick. We use 100mm for internal wall insulation and room in roof installations.
We use polyester bead which is bonded together with cavity glue. It’s breathable, it doesn’t drop and lasts the longest of any material that you can fill cavities with.
Our insulation typically lasts our customers 25+ years.
Loft insulation can take between an hour and a day to install depending on the size of your loft. Internal wall insulation generally takes around 1 week to complete but can take longer for bigger properties. Cavity wall insulation can be installed in a few hours.
After we have installed your insulation, we will plaster over your walls, leaving them ready to decorate to your liking.
