Full Heating Systems and Boilers
The first-time central heating grant is offered to households that have never had a boiler or radiators before. Homes heated by electric, coal, wood, or those with no heating at all, will be eligible. A liquified petroleum gas (LPG) tank can be installed in the garden of your property above ground and then a boiler connected to radiators is fitted within your property. There are guidelines that must be followed when installing large LPG tanks, for example there must be a 3 meter clearance from any combustible object or barrier like bushes or a shed. So larger gardens and detached homes usually pass the criteria for this grant. The grant will also allow the first-time heating grant to be applied to homes that have mains gas used for cooking, but don’t have the central heating system installed.
