Customer Testimonial
Yesterday, we caught up with one of customers Derek, who recently qualified for free solar panels with us. Derek was thrilled with his experience with us, describing our installers as “very friendly and professional” and the whole process “very easy to access” ☺️
Most importantly, Derek said “thanks to my solar panels, I am expecting my energy bills to be cut by at least half according to my smart meter, without taking into account the electricity I’m exporting back to the grid.” ☀️🔋

Room in Roof Insulation
25% of all heat lost in a home goes up and out through the roof, which means claiming free roof insulation could make your home much warmer and cheaper to heat. Put simply, room in roof, or attic room insulation, insulates sloping ceilings and walls with a 62mm insulation board. Sloping ceilings have wooden beams in them and we fix an insulation board on them by screwing into it. The boards are then plastered over, and can then be redecorated. This prevents the heat from your home rising up to the top floor and then escaping out and into the atmosphere, saving you money.
Loft Insulation
Heat rises up and out of your house through the roof. Loft insulation locks in the heat that is given off by the heaters in your home. Installing loft insulation in your attic makes a noticeable difference and the temperature change can be felt as soon as the install is complete. The installation process is quick and easy, usually taking less than 3 hours. Taking advantage of free loft insulation grants is a great place to start if you want to make your home warmer and cheaper to heat.
Full Heating Systems and Boilers
The first-time central heating grant is offered to households that have never had a boiler or radiators before. Homes heated by electric, coal, wood, or those with no heating at all, will be eligible. A liquified petroleum gas (LPG) tank can be installed in the garden of your property above ground and then a boiler connected to radiators is fitted within your property. There are guidelines that must be followed when installing large LPG tanks, for example there must be a 3 meter clearance from any combustible object or barrier like bushes or a shed. So larger gardens and detached homes usually pass the criteria for this grant. The grant will also allow the first-time heating grant to be applied to homes that have mains gas used for cooking, but don’t have the central heating system installed.
Electric Storage Heaters
Free High Heat Retention (HHR) storage heaters are far more energy efficient than the old heaters that existed years ago! Their high heat retention properties allow them to retain more heat for longer. They work by using the economy 7 tariff that uses the low rate of kwh per pence between 1am – 7am in the morning. So when you’re sleeping, they’re charging or storing the heat in the special bricks inside of them. The bricks store the heat and release it throughout the day gradually. They have an LED setting and look much nicer than old heaters. Your current energy provider, like EON, will install a new second meter for you that is a dual tariff or economy 7. This will tap into the cheaper rate of electricity for the HHR storage heaters to work off. There are 3 different strength heaters HHR20, HHR30 and the HHR40 – all very expensive to buy privately but free under the scheme with us.
